We are really experiencing wildlife sightings right now. We saw a 250 lb. black bear chasing a small fawn, a huge gaggle of young geese, a mink, a green heron, sand cranes, several loons, the eagles, and most recently a deer swimming across to the island! And of course, we have the many finches, hummingbirds, and other birds and chipmunks busily going about their many daily chores. One of the most interesting things to watch is the mama woodpecker feeding her squawking babies at the feeder! Northwoods wildlife at it's best here at Highland Pines!
Fish Legend of the Week
Congratulations to Laney as this week's Legend of the week winner. Only 8 year's old, Laney showed everyone how it was done using her special spinner bait. She captured the title by boating her first 30" musky, a 22" northern pike, and a very nice 15" large mouth bass. Way to go Laney!
